Press Release - Multi-Millionaire Re-Purposes Ancient Chinese "Art of War" for Business Owners Doing Battle in the 21st Century

Printer-Friendly Format

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

BURNABY, British Columbia (PRWEB) August 2006 - Multi-Millionaire Dan Lok has added a new masterwork to his library of best-selling titles with "The Art of War for the New Millennium," a re-purposed version of Sun Tsu's ancient and timeless text.

Recognized as the oldest military treatise of all-time, "Art of War" has been studied by world leaders and military strategists all over the world for centuries. "It has also provided unbeatable success strategies to business executives who have used it to do battle in the professional arena," explains Lok.

Lok noted, however, that there was no translation of Sun Tsu's strategies that spoke directly to the needs of new millennium entrepreneurs, particularly those seeking business success. He decided to bridge the gap and the result was "The Art of War for the New Millennium."

Lok, currently a native of Vancouver, Canada, was originally born in Hong Kong. "I definitely feel an affinity for Sun Tsu's work," he says. "And I think my Asian heritage gives me a different perspective on the teachings in 'Art of War' as well as a more profound understanding that I've been able to incorporate into my version of the text."

Everything Old Is New Again Lok has translated the strategic wisdom of Sun Tsu into powerful, easy-to-understand strategies "aimed directly at the needs of today's entrepreneurs," he says. In this new, one-of-a-kind interpretation of the ancient text, the teachings and military vocabulary take on new meaning, "that can be easily applied to the principles of business," says Lok.

"My goal was to make it easy for entrepreneurs at all levels to understand how they can use Tsu's principles in business in order to maximize profits in minimum time," Lok explains.

Battlefield to Boardroom Lok has formatted his book based on Sun Tsu' original topics, including "Waging War," "Laying Plans," "Attack by Fire," "Weak Points and Strong," "Use of Energy," and "Use of Spies. But he has re-focused the strategies so they fit a business model.

"I talk about Tsu's theories on the use of spies," says Lok, "But I talk about it from the perspective of focus groups and networking." Similarly, "Classification of Terrain" is morphed into "Market Conditions."

Each chapter contains a comprehensive discussion of the business topic as well as a translation of the original text. "I've also included Action Steps in each chapter," says Lok. "That way there's no confusion for the ready regarding what needs to be done to achieve massive success."

About Sun Tsu and Art of War Approximately 2,300 years ago in the area we now think of as northern China, a radically new perspective on conflict emerged. Its key insight was the best victories were won without going to battle. The revolutionary strategies and tactics were created by a dynasty of military leaders and codified into the treatise that came to be known as "Art of War." It was credited to Sun Tsu, the patriarch of their lineage.

Over the last half-century, Sun Tsu's "Art of War" has become a practical success handbook for people in all walks of life. "The concepts have been applied to conflicts both on the battlefield or in the boardroom," says Lok. In "Art of War for the New Millennium," Lok translates those concepts for use in cyberspace.
